Mint Julep

Bonus post this week, it's the Kentucky Derby so gotta have a Mint Julep right? Enjoy.

Mint Julep

I do not watch the Kentucky Derby, but that sure as shit
isn't going to stop me from celebrating it with its booze :)

What you'll need:

1. Silver Julep cup or Rocks Glass
2. Crushed Ice
3. Jigger
4. Muddler
5. straw
6. 10 mint leaves
7. 1 sprig of mint
8. 3 oz Bourbon or Rye Whiskey
9. .5 oz Simple Syrup
10. Splash of Rum, preferably dark

Instructions:

1. Take the Mint Sprig and place it in the palm of your hand, then slap it, as you might a strippers ass.
2. Gently rub the mint sprig along the inside of the glass then set aside.
3. Add the .5 oz of simple syrup to the glass.
4. Take the 10 mint leaves place into the glass and gently muddle.
5. Fill cup half way with crushed ice.
6. Add 2 oz bourbon.
7. Fill rest of cup with crushed ice.
8. Add 1 oz of bourbon and a splash of rum.
9. Use reserved mint sprig for garnish.
10. Insert straw.
11. Drink!
