Mango Mojito

Ok, so I've been slacking on updates as of late, 21 days since my last update? yeeesh, anyways, it's humpday so have a drink. This one has multiple parts, Mint Simple Syrup, Mango purée and finally the prize, the Mango Mojito. 

This may take a little longer, but you'll have simple syrup left over for a few batches, and enough purée for 4 or 5 mojitos. Unfortunately, you'll likely drink them in less time than it took to make everything.

Mmmm, mojitos.

Mango Mojito


What you'll need:
  1. Blender
  2. Small Pot
  3. Jigger
  4. Mixer
  5. Strainer
  6. Muddler
  7. 1 cup sugar
  8. 1 cup water
  9. handful of mint leaves
  10. 1 mango, cut into pieces
  11. Juice from 1 lime
  12. 3 oz white rum
  13. 2 oz club soda
  14. 1.5 oz mango purée
  15. .5 - .75 oz mint simple syrup
  16. 10 mint leaves 
  17. Glass
  18. Ice 
  19. Mint sprig garnish. 
Part 1 (Mint Simple Syrup)
  1. Add 1 cup of water and 1 cup of sugar to pot.
  2. Bring to a boil, stirring occasionally until sugar is dissolved.
  3. Once at a boil add a handful of mint leaves and cook for 1 minute.
  4. Remove from heat.
  5. Allow to cool, 20 - 30 minutes.
  6. Remove Mint Leaves and Strain syrup into a container.
  7. Set aside, store in refrigerator. 
Part 2 (Mango Purée)
  1. Add the mango and the juice from 1 lime into blender.
  2. Blend until smooth, or at least as smooth as you can get it.
  3. Store in container and set aside.
Part 3 (Mango Mojito)
  1. Add 10 mint leaves to glass.
  2. Add mint simple syrup.
  3. Gently muddle the mint.
  4. Add 1.5 oz mango purée and 3 oz rum to glass.
  5. Fill glass with ice.
  6. Top with club soda and stir gently.
  7. Garnish with a mint sprig.

I got about 1.5 of these 8 oz jars worth of mint simple syrup
it's mango time baby
unfortunately only got a little under a jars worth of mango,
mangos should be bigger, or I should just buy more of
them and make in bulk.
