Apple Cream Pie

Hello Tuesday! Have a pie, this recipe makes 2 so if you only want to make 1, just cut all ingredients in half.

Apple Cream Pie

What you'll need for Pie:
  1. Medium Saucepan
  2. Small Bowl
  3. Large bowl
  4. 2 9inch pie pans
  5. 1 cup sugar
  6. 1 cup milk
  7. 1 cup heavy cream
  8. 1/2 cup butter
  9. 4 tablespoons cornstarch
  10. 4 tablespoons milk
  11. 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  12. 4 Granny Smith apples, peeled, cored and thinly sliced
  13. 2 Honeycrisp or Gala apples, peeled, cored and thinly sliced
  14. 2 tablespoons flour
  15. 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  16. 1/8 teaspoon nutmeg
  17. 1/8 teaspoon cloves
  18. 2 packages double pie crusts
What you'll need for Glaze Topping:
  1. 1 cup confectioners sugar
  2. 2 tablespoons milk
  3. 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  4. 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
  5. 2 tablespoons butter, softened
 Instructions for Pie:
  1. Preheat Oven to 400°.
  2. Add 1 cup sugar, 1 cup milk, 1 cup cream, and 1/2 cup butter to a medium saucepan.
  3. Heat on medium until butter is melted, stirring regularly.
  4. In a small bowl, mix together the 4 tablespoons cornstarch, 4 tablespoons milk, and 2 teaspoons vanilla.
  5. Add to saucepan and mix.
  6. Cook until thick, stirring constantly.
  7. Remove from heat, and set aside to cool.
  8. In a large bowl, combine the apples, flour, nutmeg, cloves and cinnamon.
  9. Mix well.
  10. Line the 2 pie pans with pie dough.
  11. Pour custard filling mixture evenly into both lined pie pans.
  12. Arrange apple mixture evenly over fillings.
  13. Top with second crust, I use the lattice top, do however you like.
  14. Bake for 30 to 40 minutes, or until crusts are golden brown. 
  15. Cool for at least 30 minutes.
  16. Drizzle Glaze topping over pies (instructions for glaze below)
  17. Refrigerate for 1.5 - 2 hours.
  18. Eat up!
Instructions for Glaze Topping:
  1. In small bowl, combine 1 cup confectioners sugar, 2 tablespoons milk, 1/2 teaspoon vanilla, 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon and 2 tablespoon softened butter.
  2. Blend until smooth.
  3. Drizzle evenly over warm pie.

time to make the custard, also, open another beer.

rinse your hands and add to pies
pie crust down, custard down, beer finished, add the apples
boom, there it is, open another beer
I fucking hate latticing but it looks neat so finish beer, open another beer and get back to work
ok, throw that shit in the oven, then make the glaze
you guessed it, stir it up real good like, finish beer, open another
now just sit and wait for pies to finish, also more beer
pies done, drizzle glaze over top and refrigerate
om nom nom, done, have another beer, hit the couch and relax
