Thought I forgot didn't you? Get used to mojitos for a few weeks, I'm using up fruit. Mojitos, the thirst quencher!
Berry Mojito
What
you'll need:
- Blender
- Small Pot
- Jigger
- Strainer
- Mixer
- Muddler
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup water
- handful of mint leaves
- 1/3 cup blueberries
- 1/3 cup raspberries
- 1/3 cup blackberries
- 3 strawberries
- 1/3 cup water
- Juice from 1 lime
- 3 oz white rum
- 2 oz club soda
- 1.5 oz berry purée
- .5 - .75 oz mint simple syrup
- 10 mint leaves
- Glass
- Ice
- Mint sprig garnish.
Instructions:
Part 1 (Mint Simple Syrup)
- Add 1 cup of water and 1 cup of sugar to pot.
- Bring to a boil, stirring occasionally until sugar is dissolved.
- Once at a boil add a handful of mint leaves and cook for 1 minute.
- Remove from heat.
- Allow to cool, 20 - 30 minutes.
- Remove Mint Leaves and Strain syrup into a container.
- Set aside, store in refrigerator.
Part 2 (Berry P
urée)
- Add 1/3 cup blueberries, 1/3 cup raspberries, 1/3 cup blackberries, 3 strawberries, juice from 1 lime and 1/3 cup water into blender.
- Blend until smooth, or at least as smooth as you can get it.
- Store in container and set aside. (This made about 2 8oz jars worth)
Part 3 (Berry Mojito)
- Add 10 mint leaves to glass.
- Add mint simple syrup.
- Gently muddle the mint.
- Add 1.5 oz berry purée and 3 oz rum to glass.
- Fill glass with ice.
- Top with club soda and stir gently.
- Garnish with a mint sprig.
- DRINK UP BITCHES!
